    We signed up again this year to play during open-mic at CMSA’s annual convention, in Portland, Oregon. Our setlist was “Sway”, arranged by Andrew Boden, and the first movement Joel Hobbs‘ Memories from the Future, “Astride My Velocipede.” Here’s Sway.

    CMSA 2023 – Oblivion

    For CMSA’s 2023 annual convention, this time in Kansas City, we performed a short set of “Oblivion” and “Canta Mais.” Robert Margo provided us with an arrangement of Astor Piazzolla’s “Oblivion” for mandolin, guitar, and g-mandola. Jonathan lightly edited the arrangement to accommodate c-mandola in place of g.

    CMSA 2023 – Canta Mais

    We followed up “Oblivion” at CMSA’s 2023 open-mic session with “Canta Mais” by Antonio Carlos Jobim. Again Robert Margo provided us with the arrangement, also lightly edited the arrangement to accommodate the c-mandola. We’ve not explored the site much, but the Jobim Institute freely provides a lead sheet for “Canta Mais” in its archives.
